Picture it: the happy dog greeting visitors with a smile and a wag, the cuddly cat curled up in the sun for a nap, horse galloping around his pasture with wild abandon. Animals embrace life in a ‘present’ sort of way different from we creatures known as man. With no worry of the past, no concern for tomorrow, our pets have much to teach us about living…AND letting go.

In this episode, we’ll talk with animal lover, writer and former actress Barbara Abercrombie, whose book ‘Cherished – 21 Writers on the Animals They Have Loved and Lost’ takes us on a journey of connection, appreciation and self-discovery.

Kyle Lacy has been talking about social media marketing since before most companies even knew the term existed. When MySpace was still the Big Boy on the block and Facebook was still in its infancy, Kyle knew what the future had in store for social media. In 2009, when most people thought a “Tweet” was something a bird did, Lacy was writing an entire book on leveraging Twitter for your social media marketing campaign.

Named one of the “Top Forty Under 40″ for his digital media prowess, Lacy is sitting down with Lori Taylor to talk about what’s right now and what’s next when it comes to social media and the digital landscape.

When people think of Whistleblowing – at least, in my experience – they generally picture a conscientious person willing to reveal corporate evil-doing in spite of the likely repercussions.

What this definition does not encompass is what I “Collateral Damage” – the profound impact on that person’s family.  Once the job is lost, and the income disappears, what happens next may not be predictable but it cannot but be painful.

Our guest today on “15 Minutes of Fact” is Alicia Marie Almonte, daughter of a widely-known corporate whistleblower Linda Almonte.  She will share her personal experience with you…an ongoing emotional, physical and economic storm that has tossed her and her brother and sisters’ lives about like matchsticks for almost three full years…and it is still taking its toll.

For those who aren’t aware of Alicia’s mother, Linda Almonte, this woman has been involved in an ongoing battle with JPMorgan Chase over her dismissal from that banking firm for refusing to sign off on the sale of bad credit card debt totaling just under a Quarter-Billion Dollar.

Her case has received national attention and press, including the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, American Banker, locally with the San Antonio Express-News, and a visit from 60 Minutes.

(One of my earlier blogs on this can be found here:  http://onforb.es/rBcd07.  The original NYTimes article in which Linda first introduced the term “robosigning” is here:  http://nyti.ms/95nybU.)

All of us have known people who never seem to reach their potential and attain success – it may be our kids in school, our loved ones in their work, and it may even be ourselves. Success is measured in many ways, and if what is called success doesn’t make us happy, we’re not really successful, at all. Ken Christian is a psychologist and author of Your Own Worst Enemy: Breaking the Habit of Adult Underachievement and co-author of An Invitation to Personal Change. He is also co-founder of the Lafayette Therapy Center and of the Maximum Potential Project where he has orchestrated success with ‘underachievers’ by helping them focus on the mindset, measures, methods and momentum needed to jumpstart and sustain breakout performance. Ken Christian is passionate about helping underachievers, especially kids, and in this conversation on Good and Green Radio #98, with Susan M. Davis, Ken shares how and why some of the ways we’ve been dealing with underachievement might be ‘poison pills’ to success. Learn how transforming underachievement into Maximum Potential Performance, is a key to having a Positively Sustainable Lifestyle.

What better place than at the Republican and Democrat conventions to prove the need for and the superiority of a “citizen journalist” over the hack reporting the American public gets from MSM?

Evelyn Messinger, President at Internews Interactive and Andre Sternberg, associate producer at Link TV – also interviewed here at WGRNradio – were tasked with selecting two young representatives from among a score of qualified candidates for that role.  (No offense to people of “my” age – but a more contemporary demographic was needed here as you will learn.)

The two citizen journalists selected, Jessica Eise and Solomon Kleinsmith (interviewed elsewhere here) are to report on the two conventions through the lens of a demographic of people who – up to this point – have not had their generation’s issues addressed.  You know, the “lost generation” of people who are fed up with the existing political process bought-and-paid-for by Lobbyists and Big Money.  It wants hard questions to be asked – and answered.

Jessica and Solomon were selected to attend both the RNC and DNC national conventions to satisfy that need.  Not only were these two fully funded by Link TV and United Republic, but are equipped with press passes and instructions to get the best stories possible.

How was it that these two were selected over scores of qualified applicants?
