On todays show I ramble on about one of my favorite musical categories- visual kei. I know you know the big names like x japan, gackt, miyavi, malice mizer, and dir en grey but have you heard of daizy stripper, an-cafe or the all girl group danger gang? So even if you are a frequent visitor to harajuku and shinjuku, are all up on your cosplay of every member of phantasmagoria you may (or maybe you can school me) find a new band on today’s show to worship faun over and memorize their bio.
If you don’t want to be a weeaboo (weebo?) then its time to take you back to school. Take a listen enjoy the sounds and learn a little something about the beauty of the visual aesthetic that permeates this definitively Japanese musical tradition.
