Jennifer Born is the Director of Public Affairs of The American Tinnitus Association & the Editor of their magazine, Tinnitus Today.

I was introduced to Jennifer by Allen Rohe, another great guest on “People of Distinction”. Allen is Doctor of Audiology at Tri-City Audiology in Phoenix, Arizona. Tinnitus is the perception of sound where no external source exists. Those who are affected describe tinnitus as a “ringing, hissing, buzzing or whooshing,” perceived in one or both ears. 50 million people in the US experience tinnitus. 16 million have sought medical attention & 2-3 million are completely disabled from their tinnitus! For over 40 years the American Tinnitus Association has been helping patients understand and manage the “ringing in their ears.” While there is currently no cure for tinnitus, there are treatments that can help and the American Tinnitus Association is paving the way to a cure through scientific research.

If you or a loved one has tinnitus, contact the American Tinnitus Association online at www.ata.org – together we will find a cure.
